solar radiation and skin
The sun is a source of energy that reaches our planet through different wavelengths (λ) of electromagnetic radiation. Human beings perceive exposure to radiation in the form of visible light (HEV) or heat, such as infrared radiation (IR). However, UV radiation is invisible, making sun exposure an imperceptible risk.
Exposure to solar radiation has multiple health benefits: among others, it stimulates the synthesis of vitamin D and it affects our mood. But just as it has positive effects, it can cause undesirable effects on the skin in the short and long term.
The skin has defence systems against solar radiation,, such as the production of melanin or the release of antioxidant substances. However, it does not have the capacity to filter all the effects of an occasional or accumulated overexposure on the organism.
photoprotection
The purpose of photoprotection is to prevent the damage that occurs on our skin as a result of its exposure to solar radiation.
Using a high sun protection factor in combination with a correct application of a photoprotection product minimize the risks of the negative effects of solar radiation on the skin.

application tips
Do not remain too long under the sun, as photoprotectors minimize the sun's risks but do not eliminate them.
Apply in sufficient quantity (2 mg/cm2, equivalent to one-teaspoon amount, on the entire face, neck and neckline) 30 min before sun exposure.
Reducing the amount applied significantly reduces the level of sun protection.
Reapply every 2 hours, especially after swimming, drying with a towel or sweating.
Reapplication is essential to maintain the level of protection and the effectiveness of the treatment.
Avoid sun exposure during midday and early afternoon (between 11:00 - 16:00).
In the event of intense sun exposure, we recommend wearing sunglasses and/or a hat.
